I ought to blog quickly to update everyone on my comings and goings. Over break, I did not accomplish all my academic assignments, but it was not a terrible thing. I only read the first four books of the Aeneid, but it was all I needed to write the bulk of my essay. I also didn’t come close to reading all of Dante. I read what was assigned for the first seminar. I’ll have to take it in chunks. That means, unfortunately, that I won’t be able to sit and enjoy it with leisure, but I’ll have fun all the same. The Divine Comedy is tremendous! It goes up there on my list of favorite works next to the Aeneid, even though I’m only in the middle of the Inferno. Virgil and Dante are a dynamic duo.
I also need to announce that I was awarded the Mississippi Teacher Corps summer internship! I’m as keyed up as I am blessed. I’ll be in the Mississippi River Delta for two months this summer. Other possible summer plans are a trip to Washington State with Jesse and Michael to visit Mars Hill and go fishing (I’ll take photos while they fish), workin’ on the mission with Andrew and Licia (I should probably ask people before I plan stuff), visiting my folks in New York, and working a couple of weeks in Annapolis at City Dock Coffee before the semester begins. Who knows what my summer will look like? God willing, I’ll get to do all of those things!
Off to read Aristotle for language, Dante for seminar, Apollonius for maths, and Allenbrook (poo!) for music….

What's wrong with Allenbrook? :) Just because she has a rather technical subject to teach about doesn't make her any less exciting...okay, perhaps it does, but we shouldn't fault her for it!
On a chirpier note, Three Cheers for Pip and all of his Major Accomplishments and Exciting Plans: Hip Hip Hooray!
