Yesterday I handed in my last freshman maths paper on Ptolemy. I’ll only post the one paper, though over the past two weeks my tutor has had me writing four additional, shorter papers on some of the more technical aspects of Almagest. I’m overjoyed to be done with tutorials.
To be honest, I am very tired. Jesse and Michael noticed it a couple of days ago at dinner. One of them asked me a question and, I guess, my answer was a bit terse. That’s been happening a little more frequently over the past week. But as tired as I am, I will not give up.
I found a sentence today that has the fullness of the gospel back gently and tightly into it:
Good word. Amen.
It’s Reality Weekend here at the College. In a nutshell, it’s a celebration of ritual drunkenness and debauchery. A few minutes ago the juniors came parading through all the dormitory halls with air horns to wake people up and serve them mixed drinks. It didn’t wake me up, because I woke up with Ethan at 4:30 when he left for his drill, but it’s a bit disturbing anyway. It should be an interesting weekend. My dad is coming to visit me and see my race on Sunday. He will probably be a little shocked by the festivities, but I’m sure it won’t offend his sensibilities.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (I Peter 1:3-5 ESV)
Good word. Amen.
