Blessings Ga-freakin-lore

  • I discovered the studio floor in the gym. It’s more typically used as the yoga/pilates room, but the floor was definitely designed for ballet. It has a mirrored wall and bars along two others. I went in late at night. The gym is open until midnight on most nights. All I need to do is burn a CD of worship music and sneak down to dance. Yes, it’s true, I’m a closet dancer! I’m very excited about this.
  • I had another wonderful time at service this morning. Tim, the Johnnie I met last week (see the post), came to pick me up a bit before nine o’clock to bring me to his apartment for breakfast. Tanya made waffles, and they were delicious. We went off to BRC and I had a lovely time again. I want to be involved there, but I don’t know how much I’ll be able to offer with my current schedule and lack of transportation. (I need to learn how to use the bus system.)
  • I thank the Lord for the Bay Ridge congregation, but especially for Tim and Tanya. They are very a very busy, newlywed couple, but they have lovingly sacrificed their time and their food for me. My greatest hope now is that I can somehow return the blessing, and that God will multiply the blessings on their house.
  • Another item on the “Thank You, Jesus” List for today is my improved health. No more sniffles!
  • And this, being the news-flash blessing, the Druids were victorious over the Hustlers in the battle for undying glory on the green soccer fields of Annapolis. Go Druids!
  • Tonight I’m meeting with a select group of freshmen men to talk Bible and fellowship. I have high hopes for this group of young men, and I believe that the revelation of how I should serve here on campus will come with this group. In a few weeks, if the workload is manageable, perhaps we’ll start doing some volunteer community work.
I finished Meno yesterday, and now I’m finally gonig to finish Aristotle’s Parts of Animals and an excerpt from On the Soul.
Toodles.
