(I’m writing this at 23:00 on Tuesday, 22 August 2006. For an explanation, read the previous post.)
Of the aforementioned To Do List, I didn’t quite do all that I intended. One, two, and both options for number three have been accomplished. I started to scan Iliad, but I decided to check out the talking outside my door. Down the hall I met a small crew of guys, all of whom were interesting.
I’ll try to list their names, not for the readers’ sakes, but to see if I actually remembered as much as I should. I met Thomas Browning, Emmanuel (Immanuel?) “Matthew” Thomas, Patrick so-and-so, Pavlos Papadopoulos, Garret such-and-such, and that other guy. Not bad. I remembered some of the more complex names, and not only have I remembered their names but I’ve also remembered the faces corresponding to each name. The next step is to train myself to refer to them formally by their last names in seminar.
Unfortunately the impromptu evening meeting annihilated my ambitions to perform tasks four and five, and somewhat chiseled away my potential to satisfactorily complete six.
I thank God for this night, anyway. Talking to Thomas and Pavlos helped and encouraged me more than they know. Perhaps they reaped the same benefit from my presence.
