My Sister

I'm very excited to receive my sister back from Europe. If I remember correctly (I'm probably off), I haven't seen her in about one year. For a while this past year she lived in France, and then the rest of her time she spent in Madrid, Spain, teaching English in both places. She's one of those independent people who can do about anything she sets her mind to; so hopping around Europe isn't tough for her at all. She's fluent in English, Spanish, and French, and I think she knows a wee bit of Russian and German. The beginning of her blog describes the end of her jaunt in the Czech Republic, Poland, and Lithuania immediately before her return to the States.
I love my sister. I remember while she was in college I was sometimes quite distraught because of her extended absence. And then she would come back, invade my space, wreck my schedule, and I absolutely despised her while she was at home. We bickered and fought about simple (absolutely necessary) things until she left for college again, at which point I would be very relieved and happy to see her go. But now our lives are different. She can't invade my space, because this is a new house and nothing is my space. She can't wreck my schedule because I already dislike my weekly agenda. And I don't think we have much to bicker about now; in the process of these long years, we lost everything we have in common and everything we begrudged each other of when we were younger.
I love my sister. Tomorrow I'll drive up in the morning to get her from Buffalo. Should be fun!
