Today was the future-sophomore room selection. Michael, Jesse, and Jonathan are all on campus, but not very close in proximity. Ethan also made it. I won’t know where I am until they process more of the incoming freshmen.
My dinner today was interesting. Jonathan and I went outside to eat with Rick and Jess, two of our senior friends, who were on the back campus letting Rick’s tortoises graze. Yes, Rick owns tortoises that he has kept in his room for all four years on campus—Einstein, Newton, Darwin, Galileo, and Freddy. Imagine four people sitting out on a blanket having a picnic, surrounded by grazing tortoises. Not turtles. Tortoises! Einstein is at least fifteen pounds. Apparently it was an odd sight for people up near the Dining Hall windows. They’re such fascinating creatures.
Good news! Today I received word that Bay Ridge Christian Church is able to provide $950 to aid me on my way to India. Praise Jesus! I’ll be sending out the first round of letters this next week.
I need to write a lab paper. After that, Jonathan and I are going to help each other with our separate Greek translations, or watch a movie, or both. Jesse and Michael are gone for the weekend. Oh well. They’re having fun camping together.
Toodles.

Grazing tortises as lunch companions- now that sounds like fun! There is something right about a school that allows tortises in the dorms...and such aptly named ones, too. Which only adds to my conviction that it is an exceptional place. :)NJTS
I would love to see those tortoises! Will they still be there graduation weekend?
Yes. Rick is a graduating senior, who will be here for the ceremony I assume. I'll tell him you're interested.
I second miss nancy's thoughts. and also: praise God, india money! =D
