I’m blogging now to wake myself up. Last night I went to a Pasca celebration at the Holy Cross Antiochian Orthodox Church with a bunch of the Orthodox brethren. The liturgy began a half hour before midnight, and we were able to sit down for the first time since then by three o’clock this morning. Then we feasted in the basement (the Orthodox were breaking their lent-time fast) on an assortment of meats, cheeses, breads, and plenty of varieties of drink. It was a blast, but Jesse and I didn’t get up into our beds until five o’clock this morning. For those of us who have another meeting today with our own congregations, this is going to be a slow and difficult morning.
I’m having trouble keeping my eyes open, but I must praise the Lord for a blessed time. Today, however sleepy, is a day the Lord has made, and I am overjoyed to be here and part of it.
I’ll likely crash in my bed after this morning’s meeting. Ah, what a beautiful thought!
