Concerning the Summer, and the Now

I went to visit an apartment today on Maryland Avenue, which is about one block away from the campus where I have 35 hours of work per week set up, and one block away from the inner harbor restaurant district where I’ll apply for a weekend or evening job. The rent will be $500/month, and the roommate who’s remaining is a guy. Praise God. It’s not definite that I have it yet; I find out tomorrow after my buddy Jack, a rower, makes his decision on where he wants to room. If he takes it, I don’t get it. If he expresses doubt, Wynne told me she would give it to me for the summer. And, better yet, I have a backup for about $50 more on West Street. I’ll keep y’all updated tomorrow when the news reaches my ear. I’m excited. Praise the Lord.

I also received the forms and such for my Indian Visa and other such things in the mail today. You may think that God answers prayers. He does. He is good, and His love endures forever—not only in the good times, but also through the times of deepest gloom.

I have seminar tonight and almost no pressing work to do tomorrow. I shall work on one of my most recent writing projects. It’s currently an untitled poem about five pages long. I’ll also write up some of my individual support letters for my trip to India.

And I’m overjoyed because my brothers are coming back to me. Jesse, Jonathan, and Michael were gone this past weekend. Jesse went to Dallas to surprise his mom (his grandparents bought him a ticket—isn’t that sweet?) for her birthday; Jonathan went to visit a friend at Patrick Henry in Virginia, where my sister Charity also attends; and Michael drove to UVa to visit a couple of friends. It’s nice to have them back.

Seminar tonight. Toodles.
