God Spoke

The Lord spoke,
I will open your mouth and you will prophesy and declare the word of the Lord, because you want to hear truth and you want to see that which is meant to be. I have made you a voice to speak on My behalf, and you will declare things as they really are and there will be no gray; it will be black and white—the way things are.
These are words given to me by a dear brother, a senior here named David. Last night after seminar we went for a walk to the docks downtown, discussing the Lord’s work in our lives. One of the ministries he walks in humbly is the identification and encouragement of prophetic gifts in other believers. He himself is a prophet, but one who walks very softly; even in a small room it’s often a struggle to hear him speaking because of his quiet spirit.
The words he gave me are very true, and they are from the Lord. I’ve heard words like these before, but in the context of the work God has given us at St. John’s they’re especially powerful. This is a world that spends its days squinting and throwing dust in its eyes to try to blur reality, to try to see gray where there is only a division between black and white. They’re most comfortable in obscurity. But the Lord is the light amidst the darkness, and the shadows that men cast will not last forever.
