I had crew this morning. I coxed another four (boat with four sweeps). Wednesday’s team was considerably better. This morning I had one member of my crew who was not pulling his own weight; there’s no way to put it politely. The slightly derogatory term for someone who doesn’t exert enough strength is a “sand bag.” I had one of those, so it was like trying to steer a boat rowed by three people. Not easy, but it was a valuable learning experience.
On the bright note of coxing, my coach called me a few minutes ago and asked me to cox a veteran boat in the intercollegiate race this Sunday. This is an excellent opportunity, and I’m jumping on it. I’ll keep you updated on the race results.
I’m off to study some Greek and to prepare some Euclidean propositions. This weekend I’ll be busy working on my “Fish Lab” report, a personal essay for my class about Eric and me, and reading the last two books of the History.
Have a blessed and thankful day. I know I will.
