I’m back in New York, y’all. The end of my semester at St. John’s was lovely, and I got “good reviews” in my don rag. See this post for a refresher on what a don rag really is. There were some fair and helpful criticisms of my writing especially. I need lots of work, but all my tutors were confident that I would see a lot of growth and academic improvement next year. Good stuff. I’ll guess that I got A’s and high B’s, but my grades won’t be published for many weeks. Praise the Lord!
A random thing I’m thankful for: last Wednesday one of my customers brought me an old set of Encyclopædia Britannica’s Great Books of the Western World (only missing four volumes), which retails for almost $1200! Wow! As a Johnnie and advocate for book appreciation, this was a tremendous blessing. It has several volumes that I’ll need for junior and senior year in it, too.
God has been so good to me. He’s been growing me in many areas. He’s also been developing my gifts as a teacher and enhancing my drive to be a teacher. For this reason I’m probably going to cease using this blog and put my extra-academic writing efforts into a new blog (focusing on God and what I learn from the Spirit) that I’m about to start here. It won’t be so informal as this, but it will be personal. I haven’t decided whether I’ll drop this blog completely or not, but I’ve found that the deeper I get into St. John’s the less I’ll be able to use it. I also will be required to keep a blog for my internship this summer in Mississippi. I’ll post the link to that one when I create it.
